FFmpeg FFmpeg is a complete solution

SubTitle Creator If you created
a DVD without subtitles, or in the wrong languages, Subtitle Creator allows you
to create new subtitles for your DVD's, which you can subsequently add to your DVD
using other freeware tools such as VobEdit & IfoEdit. This process can be used
to add Subtitles generated using T2Sami to DVD's created from Tivo files using Sonic
MyDVD. Not as simple as a dedicated DVD Authoring program that supports subtitles
but the price cannot be surpassed.

VobSub VSFilter is a Subtitling
component that integrates into the DirectShow playback filter chain,allowing it
to display media file subtitles as part of the video image. Once installed, playing
a movie with external subtitles (every format including SAMI and SRT ) is possible.
Pressing ALT+"S" with a video loaded will open up the VobSub subtitle
interface. Unlike the WMP interface, VobSub displays closed captioning at the bottom
of the video image as it would be on a television screen rather than in a separate
window.
After development stopped in 2005 with v2.37, in 2007 it became part of the Guliverkli2
project with v2.38.

Public License. It converts scanned images of text back to text files.
GOCR can be used with different front-ends, which makes it very easy to port to
