Low
level CC parsing code rewritten to fix a parsing bug that could result in the
periodic loss of character pairs in ATSC broadcast video.
Added “Sentence Case conversion”
option to the captioning options.
If enabled, it will monitor the captions and convert "ALL
CAPS" captions to simple sentence case, i.e. the first letter of the sentence is
capitalized, with the rest being lower case. This is not quite correct English but it is
the simplest to implement without language processing and improved
readability for many users. It will not convert a captions if it detects that it
already contains a
mixture of upper and lower case as that would likely remove correct capitalization
from existing caption.

1. T2Sami now supports OCR
conversion of DVD subtitles for the extraction of captioning from a DVD and in
the "come back" processing so that it can be viewed on your T.V. using a Tivo.
2. An external playback interface has been added to allow accessible
captioned video to be viewed without starting the Desktop. This player handles
embedded mpeg, tivo and DVD captions as well as external .srt, saa and dfxp
captioning files. It also comes with an optional captioning transcript
window. The viewer has the freedom to adjust the color, size and
visibility of the captions that are displayed.
If you have suggestions that would improve the captioned playback experience, I
would appreciate hearing from you. Most players address captioning as a
simplified extra. I would like to try to go beyond that in T2Sami and
explore player features that optimize the captioned viewing experience.

This version adds internal video playback capability. This player allows the user
to watch captioned video from .tivo or .mpg files without extracting the the captions
to a separate captioning file in advance of viewing. This is designed to get around
difficulties DirectShow usually presents when an attempt is made to add captioning
filters to a playback graph created to display a .tivo file. It is also intended
to provide captioning support for streaming video that does not allow captions to
be extracted to an external file before being played back. To do this, the player
extracts and displays the captioning along with the video in a single pass. The
initial release requires the use of the Microsoft DirectShow Video Mixing Render.
It is recommended that the latest version of Microsoft DirectX9 be installed on
your computer if you want to try out this capability. Future T2Sami releases will
support a wider range of video software environments.

1. Cleanup of captioning
in both the extraction and merge module. This should result in fewer dropped
characters and spaces from the cation lines.
2. Support for MJPeg tools mplex added in addition to the internal T2Sami
multiplexer in the merge module. Using MJPeg tools mplex slows the execution
process but produces smaller video files that have fewer transfer
problems when they are sent to Series 2 Tivos.
